Accomodation
Shared lodging (2 people per room) and meals are covered, e.g. breakfast, lunches, dinners, coffee breaks and social events are included. Please find more infos about the venue here.

Audience: 
This training workshop aims at inspiring early career scientists including advanced PhD students, postdocs, and Junior Faculty interested in emerging issues and methods wishing to broaden and deepen their knowledge or to identify new research opportunities dedicated to GHG research and training early adopters of the joint harmonized datasets. This 1 week course will be offered to 20-24 participants, who are expected to know the basic of programming in at least one language.

Bus shuttle:

A shuttle bus will bring all of you from Marseille-Airport and Aix-en-Provence TGV stop to the venue, and back. Thus, you have the opportunity to come by fast train (to Aix-en-Provence, check www.tgv.fr) or by plane (Marseille-Airport). The bus ride will take approx. 2 hours each way. Please be at the meeting points at least 20mins in advance. Do not be late.

no fee, shared lodging and meals included 
Participants are responsible for their own travel to Marseille/France, and for e.g. personally upgrade (private room or rental car). The venue is not reachable by public transport but a shuttle will be organised to reach the workshop venue from Marseille or Aix-en-Provence (and return).

Duration:
6 days: Sunday afternoon until Saturday noon
The workshop starts with a welcome of all participants on Sunday, Sept 7 at 14PM. 
The lectures will be from Monday to Friday from 9am-5pm with Lunch and Coffee breaks in between. There will be two sessions each day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The closing session will be on Saturday morning. A field trip and evening events are planned. The participants need to work on their projects in their free time during the workshop.

Purpose:
The Carbon workshop will provide a detailed view of atmospheric and ecosystem monitoring carbon GHG measurements of carbon Infrastructures across the Atlantic and different networks.
In addition, practical use cases and scientific hands-on approaches will be explored, focusing on emerging applications to raise the awareness and curiosity of participants for data fusion techniques across scale, thematic and regional boundaries.

  1. letter of motivation (statement as to why you want to participate in the course and how you anticipate it helping your research, max 1 page)
  2. CV (max. 2 pages)
  3. letter of support (letter/email sent from your major advisor supporting your application, max. 1 page)
